Tempest Bar Hosting Fans of Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Neil Young has a long history at MSG. He and Crazy Horse played shows at The Felt Forum (now known as The Theater at MSG) in May 1969. According to the website Sugar Mountain, which has a staggering amount of info about Neil Young on tour, this is the 24th show Young has headlined or co-headlined at MSG or its smaller theater, including collaborations with Crosby, Stills and Nash.
For many of those shows, going back 20 years, one of the favorite watering holes of Neil Young fans has been Tempest Bar, which has proudly been an authentic, old school New York City pub for several decades.
Tempest underwent a thorough renovation recently, managed by a contractor who has renovated historic Manhattan establishments such as Fraunces Tavern, who ensured that it retained the distressed look befitting a landmark bar.
We serve outstanding, inexpensive drinks, and welcome patrons to order takeout from one of the several great eateries nearby that will deliver your food right to your bar stool or table.
We’re at 30th Street and Eighth Avenue, right across the street from MSG.
